Reddit’s female dating strategy – r/dating

As with many parts of life, technology has changed the way we approach dating. Here’s an overview of the top mobile apps and sites for single people.

This list was compiled by a member of the Lifehacker staff who isn’t dating or looking to date. Note that we’ve included apps both for iPad and iPhone.

Apps for finding a date

1. Tinder

Tinder is the most well-known dating app, though it isn’t the best for everyone. It’s like a phone dating app where you can match with one of a large number of potential partners based on a quick search. It works for casual sex, too, though it’s best used for people with existing relationships. Its biggest drawback is that the matches are only at your fingertips, so you have to be somewhat single and available to jump in a hasty relationship, should one come your way.

It’s also the only dating app that’s available to Apple’s iPhone, and has recently been available for Google’s Android. It does require you to sign up, so be prepared to give them your personal details: birth date, gender, height, weight, location, and information about yourself and your family. This can be found on their website, so don’t be surprised if you receive an email promoting it.

2. How Old is Too Old?

At the opposite end of the spectrum from Tinder, How Old is Too Old? requires a bit more of your time. You’re not matched with several potential dates at once, but instead you make one-to-one matches with guys and gals on your site based on their interests and location. You can also search by your interests, but if you’re looking for a relationship, you’ll probably be better off with something like eHarmony or Match.

How Old is Too Old? is the brainchild of a man named Joel Wilson, who recently turned his side project into a charity called The How Old Are You? Foundation, which is run in the US with the help of a handful of psychologists. The best part about this service is that all of your personal information is kept private, and is only viewable through an encrypted link, which is controlled by Wilson. There’s also a section on the website for people with disabilities and other people who can’t use a computer.

3. Match.com

Match is the granddaddy of online dating, and while the site offers so much more than just making matches https://www.dominant-women.net/why-use-the-best-hookup-apps-with-dominant-women-online/

By understanding that dating isn’t really all that difficult, you’ll be able to know what to do as you approach your first blind date. It’s all in the choices you make, and the way you present yourself. Flirting is all about being confident and being yourself. And of course, if you just have to talk dirty to get a bit of a thrill, you can always do that too.

Figure Out How You’re Going to Approach People

A good first step before you even go out on your first (or second, or third) date is to figure out how you’re going to go about approaching people. Are you going to be the one to approach them? Will you set up the date with them? Are you going to attempt to go on a blind date? It’s important to know exactly what kind of date you’ll be going on beforehand, and how you’ll approach the people you meet.

Here’s how I did it: Once I told my friends about the date, I decided to drive down to the restaurant we were going to meet at, to give myself plenty of time to arrive and get comfortable. I didn’t want to approach people cold because I figured that would be pretty embarrassing, so I spent a good hour (plenty of time to think about how I was going to approach this person) before I took that first step. I went out to pick up my date, chose a table in the back of the restaurant, and we started getting to know each other. So, in other words: I knew the moment I walked out the door that I was going to make the first move.

Whether you choose to do it this way or not, it’s important to understand what you want from the date. Is it to get to know a friend/family member better? Is it to get together with a friend to dance or to share a drink? Is it to meet someone with the hopes of a future relationship? Figure out what your goals are, and take the time to figure out the best way to approach people. Be sure to let your friends know that you’re looking for something, so they won’t be surprised by your actions.
